All children enjoyed a wonderful Book Week with shared reading activities across the school and finishing with our traditional book character assembly. However the real treat has been the daily audiences with artist Rory McCann, as he talked to children about the library mural he has painted, working from their own choices for subjects that would be found in the school library. Rory answered questions about his work as an artist, where he finds inspiration and what his particular interests are. The children had spent the last week before the half-term choosing a subject for every letter of the alphabet, incorporating every subject domain to be found in the library. Rory thought the list quite challenging but he has produced an amazing picture that shows how wonderful and inspirational a library can be. Thank you to the PTA for funding this project which forms part of the on-going re-ordering of the school library.
