Whole School Walk Monday 25th September
Well done to all staff, helpers and children who despite the very damp conditions, rambled in very good spirits to Longden Manor Farm. Our usual picnic spot was under heavy cloud so we sat on the top of Broompatch overlooking the Rea valley (and Rosa and Jacob's new house!). The autumn colours were rich and vibrant and provided a beautiful backdrop to our walk across the catchment. The smells too were deliciously seasonal, especially in the forest where we enjoyed a protracted whole school silence as the ducks, rooks and other creatures rustled around us. What a great start to our locality topic this term. All classes are involved in the John Muir project ( https://www.johnmuirtrust.org ) to Discover, Explore, Conserve and Share knowledge about a special place in or around the school grounds. The results of the children's work will be shared at a special end of topic assembly on Friday 10th November at 2pm.
