  On Wednesday evening, the children showcased their talents in many different areas of music, demonstrating just what a fantastic group of children! Well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to Mr Higgs and Lucy for putting it all together.

  The children have all enjoyed bringing their decorated eggs to school today. Annabelle and Mrs Bradshaw have got the difficult task of choosing a winner in each class. • Fundraising in Chestnut Class

  The children in Chestnut Class have been selling cakes today to raise money for the Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal at the Disasters Emergency Committee.

• Our new classroom

  The new classroom is almost ready! Mrs Johnson and Rachel had a meeting with Mike the builder and Clare the architect this morning, along with our Chair of governors Jim. What a wonderful space Maple Class will have. We will soon be able to confirm our 'moving in date'!

  

• A visit to Chestnut Class by Ross Montgomery

  The children in Chestnut Class are participating in the Shropshire Bookfest competition this term and today they were visited by the author Ross Montgomery. We have been reading his books in class and we love them. We couldn’t wait to meet him! He was hugely inspiring and very entertaining too. He helped us to develop some brilliant ideas for the stories we shall be writing later this term and some of us can’t wait to get started!

  

• Alice In Wonderland

  The children had a wonderful visit to The New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-Under-Lyme to see a production of Alice In Wonderland on Friday 27th January.

   

  An early start to the day saw children from Reception up to Year 6 excited for the journey ahead, and they were not disappointed! Children were thrilled to enjoy the story, marvel at the 'magic' of Alice shrinking and then growing into a giant, right before their eyes. There was much speculation about how this had happened and whether or not it it was actually real.

   

  Thank you to everyone who came with us as a volunteer and to all the children and staff for making this such a special day for everyone. It's a long time since we have experienced a theatre visit, and it certainly won't be as long until we visit one again.
