Christian values in primary schools—often found in Church of England school —are core moral principles rooted in the Bible. These values aim to shape a child's character, promote positive behaviour, and foster a supportive, inclusive school community. 

We rotate through different value themes each term. These are brought to life through collective worship, stories, and reflection. Common values taught include: 

• Respect: Valuing yourself, others and the environment.
• Compassion: Showing deep empathy and kindness to those in the school and the wider world.
• Forgiveness: Understanding that everyone makes mistakes and learning to let go of upset.
• Perseverance: Showing resilience and determination when facing challenges or difficult tasks.
• Trust & Friendship: Building reliable, supportive relationships with peers and teachers.

How They Are Implemented

These values are not just taught in religious education; they underpin the entire curriculum and school ethos. We align these principles with the broader goal of helping children live life in all its fullness. They are used to help children distinguish right from wrong and navigate mental health and personal growth. 

Inclusivity and British Values

While these values are anchored in the Christian faith and Bible stories, they are designed to be universal human values that apply to all students, regardless of their own religious backgrounds. Furthermore, schools actively pair these teachings with fundamental British Values, such as democracy, the rule of law, and mutual respect for different faiths and cultures.
