Longden CE Primary School and Nursery

School Governors

At Longden, we are incredibly fortunate to have a committed and dynamic governing body that plays a vital role in the success and growth of our school. With a wealth of experience spanning business and education, our governors provide invaluable insight and strategic support, ensuring we continue to offer the very best learning environment for our pupils.

As a Church of England school, our Christian ethos is at the heart of everything we do. Our governing body upholds and supports this commitment, ensuring that our values - such as compassion, integrity, and service - guide our decisions and enrich the educational experience of every child. Their leadership helps us nurture an inclusive, faith-based environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and morally.

We deeply appreciate their dedication, expertise, and passion for making a difference in the lives of young learners. Their guidance helps shape our school’s vision, fosters continuous improvement, and strengthens the connection between education and the wider community.

If you share our commitment to education and believe you have the right qualities to contribute, we would love to hear from you.  Becoming a school governor is a rewarding opportunity to support and influence the direction of our school. Whether you bring expertise in finance, leadership, education, or other valuable skills, your voice and perspective can help us continue to thrive.

To learn more about the role and how you can be part of Longden's governing body please contact our Chair of Governors, Jacinta Walton at chair@longden.shropshire.sch.uk or headteacher, Sally Johnson at head@longden.shropshire.sch.uk.

The Governors are frequently in school at 8.30am before any scheduled weekday governor meetings and are available to answer any questions parents and carers might have.  Please do come along and meet them. The next meetings will take place as follows:
