Welcome to Longden CE Primary School and Nursery PTA
All parents, carers and guardians of children at Longden School become members of the Parent – Teacher Association. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that you will be dragged into forced labour!
The school’s PTA mainly exists to help raise funds for trips and equipment that are not normally provided by the Local Education Authority, to enhance the school experience for all our children. We also help to build a real sense of school community and create memories to last a lifetime!
Here are a few of the benefits we have helped to provide:
• Coaches for whole school outings
• Puppet shows
• Play equipment
• Musical instruments
• Additional features for the school grounds
• IT equipment such as school laptops
Last year we funded £4,500 for laptops; over £1500 for coaches for school trips; £750 for sports, maths and science equipment; £500 for forest school equipment; as well as a puppet show, football kits and leavers’ presents.
This year we are raising money for a storage unit for playground equipment and are now looking at a replacing more laptops and school iPads. There are always plenty of ideas for spending!
How do we raise the funds?
We have a series of events throughout the year, which we are aiming to share at the start of each term to raise awareness early. These include fairs, discos, food stalls, seasonal activities and socials for families and adults.
How can I help?
You can see a video summary of last year’s activity here: Longden PTA 2023/24 | Biteable.
